Apps Every Traveler Needs to Download Now if they Don’t Already Have Them

It’s incredible how far the world of travel has come since the early 1900’s. Journeys that used to take weeks by boat or train now take only a matter of hours. Communicating with a friend or colleague on the other side of the world is as easy as pushing a few buttons. Technology has undoubtedly changed the world we live in, and will continue to do so. One obvious way technology has changed the world of travel is through the apps that help make it so much easier to do. Here are some must have apps for the avid traveler.

Maps

For anyone in a different city, or country, having GPS in our pockets to use whenever we want can actually be a lifesaver. If there is one app that every traveler must have, it is a reliable maps app. You can even find some with the option to buy and offline package in case you find yourself without signal or wifi!

Translator

Unless you plan on spending your entire travels through areas that you are familiar with the languages, a translator or dictionary will come in very handy!

Priceline

A lot of people are familiar with the Priceline.com webpage, but not so many people know about their mobile app. It’s a great resource when looking for airfare because it has an alert feature. You simply put your destination and window of dates and it will let you know when there is a good deal!

Uber

Uber is the Yellow Taxi of today. They have completely simplified transportation. All you do is put in a pick up location, a destination and connect it to a credit card. There is no cash, no tip, no questionable meters. Just in and out, easy.

Airbnb

Airbnb is an app for travelers that prefer a more homey feel than a hotel room. You put in your destination and dates, and out comes a list of people willing to either share their extra bedroom with you, or potentially rent you their entire place. If you haven’t tried it before, we highly recommend it.
